Opening Session
This opening session provides a critical overview of telecommunications' significant role in the security ecosystem today, as well as mitigation strategies for current and evolving threats to mobile networks. Furthermore, it will evaluate the interdependence of network security and fraud prevention for consumers and operators.
Session 1: Mobile Security Landscape 2024
Since the launch of GSM, each generation of mobile communications technology has become increasingly critical for all consumer and commercial utilities and services. It's no surprise that mobile networks and their support services face an ever-changing threat landscape. With 5G RAN and 5G core set to play a larger role, mobile network security is more crucial than ever.
The session will draw on the latest GSMA Mobile Security Landscape Report 2024, which will be made available as part of the Security Summit.
Session 2: Communications and Connected Devices – Cyber Security Challenges and Opportunities
While 5G provides a secure basis for many products and services, IoT and product security is still frequently in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Delivered as fast paced lightning talks, this session will explore several initiates where the mobile industry is looking to strengthen mobile network, messaging, product and application security, to deliver impactful security gains across the mobile eco-system.
Session 3: Threat Intelligence – Prevention through Sharing
Building on the preceding discussion on the Mobile Security Landscape, this session will look at how real-time and strategic threat Intelligence sharing across the mobile ecosystem can both limit and stop the spread of attacks against mobile networks and services.
The session will showcase the success of industry efforts such as the Telecommunications Intelligence Sharing and Analysis Center (T-ISAC) led by the GSMA and the GSMA Fraud and Security Group (FASG) Threat Intelligence sub-group. It will also look at how increasing regulatory dimensions, information sharing, and mobile industry engagement with other industry verticals are critical to preventing fraud, not only for mobile network operators and their customers but for the entire ecosystem.
The session will look at end-to-end private 5G environments in business enterprises and industrial verticals that serve as the foundation for cybersecurity requirements and strategy.
