Kaan Terzioglu is the Chief Executive Officer of VEON Group that serves six exciting emerging markets with a combined population of 510 million. VEON’s digital operators in Pakistan, Ukraine, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan provide connectivity and digital services in finance, entertainment, health and education to their customers, supporting economic growth and bridging the digital divide in their respective markets.
Mr. Terzioglu is also a Board Member of the GSMA and of the GSMA Foundation which leverages the power of mobile connectivity for development. Prior to his current role, Terzioglu served VEON as a Group Co-Chief Executive Officer, Co-Chief Operating Officer and a VEON Board member. Earlier, between 2015 – 2019, he was the CEO of Turkcell.
In 2019, Mr. Terzioglu received GSMA’s “Outstanding Contribution to the Industry” award for his leadership in defining a digital transformation model for the telecoms industry, and for his contributions to socially responsible business.
His career spans over 30 years in regional and global leadership roles in management consulting, technology and telecoms with Arthur Andersenand CISCO in Turkey, Belgium and the United States.
Kaan Terzioglu holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Bogazici University of Turkey.
