Atty. John Henry D. Naga, a lawyer with a profound passion for public service, is the Privacy Commissioner of the National Privacy Commission.


Prior to his current position, he served as a Provincial Board Member in Masbate, Bicol, Philippines for two terms. Building on his success, he then joined a prestigious law firm in the Philippines, where he tackled high-profile cases in Labor, Telecommunications, and Corporation Law.


With his exceptional skills, he was appointed as the Assistant Secretary of the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) in 2016, followed by his promotion as Undersecretary for Management and Operations in 2018 where he led the Development and Innovations cluster, overseeing the implementation of significant initiatives such as the National Broadband Plan, National Government Portal, and the Philippine Identification System, among other notable projects.


Before being appointed as the Privacy Commissioner in 2021, he first served the NPC as one of its Deputy Privacy Commissioners since 2019.
